The Kaplan Law Corporation Philosophy
From Jay A. Kaplan,
Founding Member of the Kaplan Law Corporation

It is of paramount importance to us at (KLC) that our firm be able to provide an overall service to our clients, not just a partial one. It is for that reason that even though we specialize in the handling of FELA railroad injury cases, third party construction accident cases and Jones Act cases obtaining the maximum monetary result on each and every case, we are also able to provide effective legal representation in many other areas so as to meet the needs of not only our specific clients, but those of their family, relatives and friends. Additionally, during the pendency of the client's case, we have people in our office who have the specific job of providing additional services at no extra charge, such as assisting in driving people to their medical appointments when needed, helping them to fill out their disability forms, confirming that their leave of absenses are current. Following the resolution of the case, if we are asked and if it is necessitated because of the extent of injury, we assist clients in filing for their disability pensions or appealing them if necessary, usually at little additional cost. Further, we are able to recommend to our clients many highly regarded Board Certified medical doctors who we have come to know over the years in many different specialties, so our clients are not forced to endure the substandard treatment of company doctors.

Kaplan Law Corporation truly enjoys advocating and protecting he rights of injured and abused railroad workers and their families. On short notice, we stand ready to attend union meetings, small or large, to inform railroad workers of their rights and to answer any questions that they might have at no cost. Over the years, we have handled the largest of cases and the smallest of cases such as those involving minimal hearing loss cases even when it was not financially prudent to do so, but we felt an obligation to provide all railroaders with needed legal representation. The foregoing holds true in California as well as anywhere else we may be of assistance, such as in other states such as Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Oregon etc. Additionally, we encourage all railroaders to call us collect or on our national toll free line (800-552-7526) and ask questions or seek information at no obligation or cost.

In addition to handling hundreds upon hundreds of cases, Kaplan Law Corporation has also successfully represented clients on:

  • Third Party Construction Accidents
  • Maritime & Jones Act Accidents
  • Metrolink & Commuter Train Accidents
  • Wrongful Death
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Vehicular & Motorcycle Accidents
  • Aviation Accidents
  • Product Liability
  • Medical Malpractice
  • Employment Law, Wrongful Termination, and Discrimination Matters
Over the years, Kaplan Law Corporation has partnered with the law offices of Dennis M. Elber in representing injured works in many different crafts. The settlement and trial success achieved in those cases have convinced both firms that all such cases deserve the continuing joint commitment of the Kaplan and Elber Law offices in Long Beach, California.

Both law firms pride themselves on being trial attorneys who specialize in representing injured working people in both state and federal court at every level of decision. Over the years, the firms have litigated a long line of cases in both state and federal courts resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in awards. Between the two law firms, they have over thirty six trial verdicts in excess of $1,000,000.00. Both name partners of Kaplan Law Corporation and the law offices of Dennis M. Elber are "AV Preeminent" rated.

Kaplan Law Corporation has fluent Spanish speaking paralegals, receptionist and investigators who have worked with the firm for a number of years.

Fraternally Yours,
